=> A big part of having a successful army is based upon supply and production. If you cannot achieve this efficiently then you run the risk of losing the war. However if you can supply and produce quicker than the enemy then you might be well on the way to victory.

This section is all about economics.

Supply Vehicle

Two chinooks servicing one supply dockWhen you first start off you have a fixed amount of money in which to start building a base and subsequently your battle plan. One obvious step is to increase the amount of supply vehicles that you use. Initially one vehicle will be available when a Supply Center is constructed but it's a good idea to build extra vehicles depending on what side you are. That could be Chinooks for the US or Trucks for China. With the GLA make sure you produce many extra workers for the ferrying of supplies. Although this means an early investment of your cash it will soon come flowing back to you as many more supplies are moved. As the money pours in you'll be able achieve the better units and structures so much quicker.

The problem soon develops however of a Supply Dock rapidly running out of supplies. So you need to be aware of other Supply Docks on the map that you can avail yourself of.

Chinooks can travel long distances for suppliesThe US army is in a strong position to get to these other supplies quickly because it transports by air. But depending on which side you are on you can counter the Chinook advantage by guarding new supply areas with the GLA's RPG Troopers or China's Tank Hunters. The Chinooks can be brought down quite easily as they hunt for supplies if they have been left unprotected.

The fact is that an army becomes vulnerable as it's supply lines get stretched. So you need to think about protecting those lines. As you search for extra supplies build small but heavily armed additional bases to protect your supply carrying vehicles. As mentioned earlier it's all about economics and you need to do your sums. A new Supply Dock can bring in over $25,000 so it makes sense to protect that supply with some defenses.

You'll also find some smaller collections of supplies dotted around but it is not as profitable to build up a big defense for these. Far better to just send some collection units along and hopefully sneak in and sneak out again.

Oil Derricks

Oil Derricks are well worth protectingThese are an extra important source of income. You'll need to capture one with either a Ranger, Red Guard or Rebel but when you do the money will start to roll in with an immediate $1000 and more to follow. Again it's a good idea to protect an oil derrick once captured but it is perhaps better to allow it to fall into enemy hands than let it be destroyed while defending it. After all, you can always recapture it and continue to acquire income from it later on. If it's destroyed a valuable resource has gone for good.

Oil Refineries
If you capture an Oil Refinery that means you can build new vehicles at a lower cost. This means that you're money will stretch further but it's not advisable to spend large amounts of money defending this structure as it may turn out to be a false economy.

All sources of income

As already mentioned it is so important to keep your money coming in as a war is very expensive. Following on from what has been mentioned earlier GLA players should make use of the Black Market as an extra source of income while the Chinese should produce Hackers in order to Cash Hack. The US has the facility to build Supply Drops and generate more income that way.

Building multiple Black Markets and Supply Drops is essential along with multiple Hackers.

If it's a long war supplies will begin to dry up so don't be rash with your fighting units and structures. It's cheaper to repair and heal rather than to build a replacement so pull back on an attack if it is going badly. Repair those units and fight another day. If a structure is under attack and you are about to lose it consider selling it while it is still worth something.

Denying Enemy Supply

An important part of your strategy is to try and damage your opponents economy. Although it's difficult to attack the enemy's initial supply dock more can be done to threaten other supplies. If you are able to limit the enemy to just one supply dock then you will give yourself a considerable advantage.

Oil Derricks and a Scorched Earth Policy
Try and stop your enemy from utilizing any source of income. First attempts should be to capture the Oil Derrick so that you can avail yourself of that income. However you may wish to adopt a "scorched earth" policy by actually destroying the Oil Derrick so that it is of no future use to anyone. But then you'll need to be certain that your own finances can afford this. Certainly by destroying Derricks close to an enemy base will mean that the enemy has to stretch a supply line that much further which in turn means a fragile supply line.

Supply Units
A sustained effort to destroy enemy supply units will pay dividends. This has a two fold effect because it not only slows down the intake of money but it also means money must be spent to replace those lost units. Money that could have spent elsewhere. This even makes sense when attacking the GLA's workers. They may be cheap to replace but it is still money that has to be spent.

It's important to target income-generating structures early on. For example try to go after not only Hackers when fighting the Chinese but also their Command Centers. These structures control the cash hack capability. If you are able to rid a side of it's supply units then strike at it's Supply Center next before more units can be built. This could leave the enemy high and dry!

When you are attacking a unit or a structure ensure that you complete the job by actually destroying the target. It costs a lot more to replace such an item than it does to simply repair it. As soon as you are able to apply real pressure in this way your opponent is having to worry about replacement and defense rather than attack.
