Red Guard
Like the US Ranger the Red Guard is
the basic unit of the Chinese army. For a cost of $300 you
get two units, which means that a sizable infantry force can
be produced cheaply. They can occupy buildings, and once upgraded
can be used to capture buildings. When used in a large group
they are able to gain a horde bonus, which results in them
firing their weapons faster with greater effect. Against enemy
infantry they are likely to win the day.
|
|
 |
Tank Hunter
The Tank Hunter has two modes of attack.
First an anti-tank weapon, which naturally enough is very useful
against vehicles but also as a defense against aircraft. Second,
Tank Hunters have a TNT attack that is used on enemy structures.
As with the Red Guard they can occupy buildings and are a great
asset in large numbers. |
|
 |
Hacker
Hackers
are not in a position to defend themselves, as they don't carry
a weapon as such. But that's okay because they still serve a
very useful purpose of bringing in the cash! They do this by
hacking into the Internet. They are also very useful in battle
because if they are well protected they can be brought in close
to a building belonging to the enemy shut off its power and
disable it. |
|
 |
Black Lotus
Black
Lotus is another interesting unit because like the Hacker she
doesn't carry a weapon so is unable to defend herself. But she
is able to capture enemy buildings and hack cash from enemy
structures. More usefully she is able to hack into an enemy
vehicle and shut it down for a while allowing it to be passed
by safely or even for it to be destroyed. |

Construction Dozer
This
is the same as the US Dozer except of course it builds Chinese
buildings instead. Now there's a surprise! |
|
 |
Supply Truck
The
Supply Truck is how the Chinese get the main part of their income
as it moves supplies from the Supply Dock to the Supply Center.
When full they carry $300 worth. It would seem that they are
much less useful than the US supply carrying Chinooks not least
because they have to deal with terrain. But they are a lot cheaper
so you can have a large convoy of them to keep the supplies
rolling in. |
|
 |
Battlemaster
Here
we have the basic Chinese tank. On a one to one basis they are
not really a match for the US Crusader tank so the trick here
is to use them in large groups then you will gain a horde bonus,
which enables them to shoot and move at a faster rate. |
|
 |
Inferno Cannon
This
unit has a very long-range weapon but it doesn't fire missiles
instead it dispenses napalm. Now this is a very handy choice
against infantry but less effective when up against vehicles
or structures although still useful. However if you muster up
a large group of Inferno Cannons then an enemy base can be quickly
destroyed with a massive firestorm. So the policy here is to
us them in teams rather than single units. |
|
 |
Dragon Tanks
These
units also fire napalm although the firing range is much shorter.
However they are also able to set down a firewall around the
unit so it stops anything from walking or driving through. This
can even affect friendly units so be careful. Dragon tanks are
also very useful for taking out the infantry from a garrisoned
building. |
|
 |
Troop Crawler
This
vehicle is designed to ferry your troops from A to B and so
on. It is able to accommodate eight units altogether and if
you place wounded soldiers in it they will be healed. It has
no offensive capability and infantry inside it cannot fire their
weapons. However the Troop Crawler is supplied with eight infantry
units and it has the ability to detect mines. |
|
 |
Overlord
As
it's name suggests this unit is very powerful. It is able to
quite literally smash anything that gets in its way by either
driving over it or shooting through it and that includes vehicles.
They carry a twin cannon and are also big enough to actually
have a Speaker Tower, a Gattling Cannon or even Bunker mounted
on to them. As part of a group they are a devastating force
to be reckoned with. |
|
 |
Gattling Tanks
Gattling
Tanks can make short work of Aircraft or enemy vehicles. Being
accurate, mobile and fast firing they are very destructive.
The only downside is the fact that their spinning gun barrels
takes several seconds to get up to speed and fire.
|
|
 |
Nuke Cannon
If
you are on the offensive and you want to soften up the enemy
then this is what you need. It's long range and very destructive.
However it's not quick, it takes a while to deploy and is weak
to enemy attack. So use a lot of protection from your other
units as the Nuke Cannon launches your assault from long range. |

 |
Mig
Just like the US aircraft the Mig
is liable to be lost to enemy anti-aircraft fire if you aren't
very careful. However it is possible to upgrade them with better
armour and used in groups they can bring about devastation.
In fact used in that way they can cause a firestorm that will
continue to damage units and structures after the Migs have
left the scene. The more Migs there are the longer lasting the
firestorm. |

 |
Barracks
As
with the US, you need the Barracks to able to get Chinese infantry
soldiers and is also the means to upgrade them so that they
can capture a building. |
|
 |
Command Centre
Just
as with the US Command Structure, this is the heart of your
camp and military operation. It does not come with a functional
radar, unlike the US, so that has to be built separately. Cluster
Mines, Cash Hacks, Artillery Barrage, Emergency Repair and the
EMP Pulse are all Chinese special weapons which can only be
provided courtesy of the Command Centre. Construction Dozers
are also built here. |
|
 |
Bunker
The
Bunker enables the Chinese soldiers to take cover while under
fire. It holds up to five soldiers at a time and allows them
the cover they need to destroy nearby enemies, while remaining
protected. Using Tank Hunters in a bunker is particularly useful. |
|
 |
Nuclear Missile Silo
This
structure is used for the construction and launching of the
Chinese 'Super Weapon', the nuclear missile, which is the most
destructive force on the battlefield. There is no defence against
this weapon apart from scattering your units when it's on its
way. It is also possible to research Uranium Shells and Nuclear
Tanks with this structure. |
|
 |
War Factory
This
structure produces all the ground vehicles and even repairs
them. If you wish to use Black Napalm or Chain Guns, the research
for those items is done here. |
|
 |
Propaganda Centre
This structure is used to provide Black Lotus and Overlords,
two of the most impressive Chinese units. You can also research
here Nationalism, which will increase the horde bonus for several
units and also Subliminal Messaging which empowers Speaker Towers. |
|
 |
Speaker Towers
Speaker
Towers send out a stream of propaganda which increases the will
of units and repairs any damage they may have suffered. This
can be improved upon after you have research Subliminal Messaging. |
|
 |
Airfield
The
Airfield produces all of China's Mig airplanes. The Migs take
off from here and return after completing their missions. Research
can also be done here in order to upgrade the Mig armour. |
|
 |
Gattling Canon
The
Gattling Canon is a rapid-fire weapon that can be use in defence
against infantry and aircraft. It can be used at great distances
with precision and it can even detect cloaked units. |
|
 |
Nuclear Reactor
As
with the US, this is the method to produce electricity to power
your structures. It provides 10 units of power, which is useful
for several structures. In an emergency, they can be overloaded,
which will double the power output, but eventually will lead
to the Nuclear Reactor exploding. |

| During the battle your army can gain extra
strengths and abilities depending on how the war is going. As
the battle progresses you, as a General, will be in line for
promotions that in turn will reward your army with the extra
abilities.
When you are notified of a promotion a
menu becomes available listing the extra abilities that are
now there for you to choose from. The higher the promotion
the greater the ability.

ONE-STAR GENERAL ABILITIES
Red Guard Training
This ability will give your Red Guard
one bar of veterancy the moment they are created including
those that arrive in a newly purchased Troop Crawler.
Artillery Barrage
There are three levels to this ability
and each level is able to add twelve shells to the attack.
So every five minutes you can order an off screen attack against
structures and units as this weapon can destroy either. You
have to be a Three Star General to avail yourself of the two
or three level Artillery Barrage.
Emergency Repair
This is exactly the same as the US Emergency
Repair
Nuke Cannons
Nuke Cannons are on a par with the American
Tomahawk or the GLA Scud Launcher. The devastating Nuke Cannon
is ideal for blasting away enemy defenses so get them when
you can.
|
|
 |
|
THREE-STAR GENERAL ABILITIES
Cluster Mines
Cluster Mines will cover a small area with
contact mines that explode when a unit drives over or steps
onto. They are useful in trying to shut down areas where you
do not want the enemy to venture.
Artillery Barrage
The second two levels are available once you
reach Three-Star status.
Cash Hack
This ability every four minutes enables you
to steal money from your enemy. There are three levels here
starting from $1000 up to $4000.
|
|
 |
|
FIVE-STAR GENERAL ABILITIES
EMP Pulse
Usable every six minutes the EMP Pulse weapon can shut down
all the functions of the vehicles and structures in the target
area leaving them useless for a short while. Using this weapon
as a precursor to an attack from your other units means that
enemy base defenses can be disabled enabling an easier approach
for your forces.
